Sales & Partnerships
The Role
What you'll do
We are looking for a curious, commercially aware, and relationship-driven Sales & Partnerships Intern who understands that great partnerships are not just about sending emails—they are about identifying the right opportunities, understanding what matters to people and organisations, and creating value for both sides.
You will support Builders’ Tribe in identifying and developing relationships with startups, founders, investors, corporate organisations, ecosystem partners, sponsors, communities, and other relevant stakeholders across our programmes and markets.
This role is for someone who is comfortable researching opportunities, reaching out to new people, following up consistently, and turning conversations into meaningful relationships. You do not need to come in knowing everything, but you should be resourceful, confident communicating with people, and willing to figure things out.
Core Responsibilities
Your day-to-day
Tap any area to see what the work looks like in practice.
- Research potential partners, sponsors, clients, and other relevant organisations.
- Identify appropriate decision-makers and points of contact within target organisations.
- Build and maintain organised prospect and lead lists.
- Qualify opportunities based on their relevance and potential value to Builders’ Tribe.
Success Metrics
How we'll measure impact
- Quality and relevance of leads and partnership opportunities identified.
- Consistency and quality of outreach and follow-ups.
- Accuracy and organisation of partnership and sales trackers.
- Number of qualified conversations and opportunities generated.
- Timely completion of agreed follow-ups and assigned tasks.
- Quality of research and preparation for partnership conversations.
- Contribution to partnerships, sponsorships, and other commercial opportunities.
Who we're looking for
The right fit
Must-Have
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good research skills and ability to find relevant information independently.
- Confidence communicating with new people and organisations.
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to think about opportunities from both sides of a potential partnership.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and take ownership of assigned work.
Nice-to-Have
- Previous experience in sales, partnerships, business development, fundraising, customer success, community management, or a related area.
- Experience with prospecting or professional outreach.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn and other prospecting tools.
- Experience using CRM or pipeline management tools.
- Familiarity with startup, technology, investment, or innovation ecosystems.
- Experience supporting sponsorships, events, or partnership programmes.
Competencies that matter
Skills you'll sharpen
- Commercial thinking: You can identify where an opportunity could create value rather than simply asking organisations for support.
- Communication: You can communicate clearly, professionally, and persuasively.
- Resourcefulness: You know how to research, find the right person, and figure out your next step without waiting to be spoon-fed.
- Relationship building: You understand that partnerships are built through trust and consistent communication.
- Follow-through: You do not allow promising conversations to disappear because nobody followed up.
- Resilience: You can hear “no,” learn from it, and keep moving.
- Ownership mindset: You take responsibility for moving your work forward.
- Organisation: You can manage multiple conversations and opportunities without losing track of what happens next.
This isn't for you if…
- You think sales is simply sending the same cold email to as many people as possible.
- You are uncomfortable initiating conversations with new people.
- You dislike following up.
- You need detailed instructions before taking every action.
- You struggle to keep track of conversations, deadlines, and next steps.
- You take rejection personally or allow one “no” to stop you.
- You are unwilling to research an organisation before reaching out to them.
